Tuanzebe - Wilnis
O’Shea - Mcgreal?
Greaves - Venus?
Burgess - Hermann?
Davis - Clapham
Morsy - Holland
Cajuste - J Wright?
Burns - Reuser
Szmodics - scowcroft?

None of them are anything like any of them.
Too young to remember? God that's depressing, don't waste it.

Poll: Is it more annoying when builders

Depends what you mean by comparing. If it's plays in a similar position then that's hard because we played a different formation - so comparing a Szmodics with a Scowcroft is like chalk and cheese.

If you looking for players who are similar, then there are some that do have some similarities and others that don't. Probably more similarities in the defenders than forwards.

Goalkeepers: No obvious comparison. Muric is more similar to Walton than any of the 2000/01 keepers. Wright is arguably the best keeper we've ever had and is head and shoulders above Muric and Walton. Sereni never claimed a cross in his life so isn't comparable to our current keepers either.

Defenders:
- Clarke and Wilnis: Right backs that were better going forward than at defending
- O'Shea and McGreal: Good in the air and good range of passing. Could play right back if needed
- Venus and Burgess: Good left foot, strong in the air but a bit slow
- Greaves and Bramble: Strong in the challenge, good in the air, can bring the ball out.
- Davies and Clapham: Better going forward than at defence.
- There isn't really a match up for Tuanzebe.

Midfield:
- Magilton and Morsy: Tenacious, demand the ball and good passer. Slightly past their primes.
- Holland and Taylor: Good box to box players with an eye for a goal. Holland was much better than Taylor though.
- Cajuste and J Wright: Classy on the ball with a good range of passing. Cajuste much more dynamic than Wright though.
- Reuser doesn't really have an equivalent, nothing like Burns.

Forwards:
- Stewart is probably most similar to Chaplin, but was bigger and stronger in the air. Clever players who have a great knack of finding space.
- Naylor is probably the closest to Delap. Same power, same sh1thousery, but Naylor didn't have a great goal sense.
- Scowcroft and Hirst have some similarities, but Scowie was better in the air and Hirst is quicker.
- Szmodics and Armstrong maybe, but Armstrong was more of a centre forward than Szmodics.
- No obvious comparisons for Hutchinson because we had sold Petta to Celtic the year before promotion.

I bump into Naylor reasonably often. I’ll let him know that you compared him to Delap, he’ll be delighted!
