Everyone’s doing it. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s one coaching manual now. The vast majority of clubs seem to be trying to emulate the same playing out from the back even if they’ve got different approaches further up the pitch.

One day we’ll look back on this period and shake our heads at the ridiculousness of it all. It works fine for a few, but most keepers and defences are a danger to themselves.

No 3 is a gem because keeper error leads to own goal from the defender but then number 4 is effectively two goalkeeping clangers in 1 with first the gifting the ball and then 2nd the fact he knocks the ball into his own goal.
