I watched the Leeds v QPR game in Beattie’s yesterday. Our level of football, even in defeats such as Spurs and Forest is so much better than what was on display. If we can keep the core of the team together and the management as well then a stronger, wiser and better town can go for Prem return for 26/27 season.
Also Philogene in the first half had his best display in a town shirt imho. He doesn’t get picked for England U21 for nothing. KM will coach him into a better team player and we will see his true l talent even if it takes until next year.

I’m comparison to the PL, the championship is awful. As you say if we keep most of our squad together, plus adding to it, we stand a very good chance of going up automatically.
If we do that, we’ll add again and hopefully will be stronger for another go on the PL.
I will say that I don’t think that the championship is the slog fest it’s claimed to me - yes there are more matches than the PL, but if you factor in that we will hopefully have a very good squad, rotation should mean that we can keep the players fresh. |  | | |

We need to sort out our defending though to be honest, and not just the back four but how we set up and defend as a team. I'm not sure we can expect to make the top two by winning 4-3 again every week. |  | | |

It’s almost a different sport with the same name. I think it’s really hard to understand our true level in the premier league, but we shouldn’t lose sight of that and throw the baby out with the bath water. We’ve not become a bad side over night, and McKenna hasn’t become a crap manager. We’re just at a level that’s frighteningly good. We’ve gone from L1 dross to beating Chelsea & Spurs, being disappointed to not win at Old Trafford, drawing home & away with Champions league 1/4 finalists Villa, our 2nd string rocking up to championship playoff hopefuls in the cup and doing them 4-1 and the national media speculating if our #9 is going to get into the full England squad.

I was thinking the very same thing, thank you for saving me typing it all out.
For me, our escalation has been so rapid, I considered this a free swing at the big boys. Ultimately we were not quite there, but dished out a couple of bloody noses to Spurs and Chelsea, and sent the likes of Villa, ManUtd and Brighton off to the laundry for an underwear wash. | | | |
