Martin O'Neil on Talksport, "brutal dig" 20:17 - Jul 2 with 1975 views | Facefacts | There's a great YouTube video of Martin O commenting on Keith Andrews becoming the Brentford boss. Probably a day or two old. Apologies if already seen. "He was at the lower levels while I was winning European Cups". Well worth watching if you haven't seen it yet.

Andrews has played far more top division football than Clough ever did, for example - does that make him a better manager? Just to prove how irrelevant his point is...

I wasn't a fan when he was here. Not much to choose between him and Bullard.

To be fair to Cloughie doing his ACl killed his career at age 27. At nearly a goal a game he was more than ready for the next step. If he was around today he would have been snapped up by a premier team long before 27. Mourinho would be a better comparison.

Both good players, the mistake was having them both in the same team, both luxury items which gave absolutely nothing defensively. Put a huge burden on our other midfielder, Grant Leadbitter (if I remember correctly). That Jewell team was attractive going forward but made the Royle team look parsimonious.
