India tours 18:22 - Jul 20 with 696 views | Zx1988 | Does anyone have any experience of guided tours of India? Mrs Zx and I are looking at doing a tour later this year, and the Golden Triangle tours which involve safaris at Ranthambore seem of most interest to us. I've managed to find two that look to be of interest: https://www.titantravel.co.uk/holidays/indias-golden-triangle-with-ranthambore-n https://holidays.flightsandpackages.com/Holidays/India/Golden-Triangle-and-Rajas The former is a little pricier, includes fewer stops (being a round trip), but does include more meals and UK transfers at either end, whilst the latter is cheaper, has more stops (being Delhi to Udaipur), but has fewer included meals, and we'd need to sort our own UK transfers. Has anyone done anything like this before? Any recommendations, or particularly reputable operators that you'd recommend? [Post edited 20 Jul 18:24]

Really enjoyed India, beautiful country and met lots of amazing people. Really glad we done it, doing it as a small guided group was the right choice for us and will go back one day I hope.

It is run by my good friend Sumit. He is originally from Delhi and has contacts all over India. He has lived in Cambridge for last 30 years or do. Send me a DM if you would like his contact details. India is amazing. You will have a fab time.

Our guide was very good, not particularly cheap but I'm happy to give you his details if you DM me. I think Rathambore is rather over rated - a giant game reserve full of flatbed trucks in search of the elusive tiger - but we did see one fairly close.

India tours on 14:06 - Jul 21 with 300 views | Cageyblue | I did a one month tour last year. I used Gets Holidays who were brilliant. I cant see my particular itinerary on their website now but it was called "Discovering India from North to South ". 22 nights/23 days. I arranged my own flights to and from India and also added a few days at the end at Marari Beach in Kerala to unwind after a long tour. The tour took me from Delhi to Jhansi, Khajuraho, Orchha, Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, Kochi, Munnar, Thekkaday, Periyar and Allepey . Visited the Panna national park near Khajuraho and saw tigers in the wild which was brilliant ! Can thoroughly recommend them and they will tailor make a tour if you want. I adjusted mine a little too. https://www.getsholidays.com/
India tours on 22:50 - Jul 21 with 152 views | Nutkins_Return | I have very solid (or the opposite) experience of 48 hours of awful loss of bodily functions. Be unbelievably careful what you eat. The hygiene levels are off the scale bad. Nearly all of us went down at some point and we were stating at supposedly safe places. My recommendation is to go veggie. You may still get a dodgy stomach but the level will be different.

And only drink bottled water, even then check the screw top to make sure that it is intact, not a reused bottle that has been filled with water straight out of the river.

Agree. My number one advice which is hard to remember is when showering do not let the water go in your mouth!!! That's the one that will get you after you have been careful with bottled water. OP will update to confirm he's not going soon 🤣. On a serious note do enjoy it. Wasn't for me but I'm sure some people will enjoy. Goa is probably the place to go. Very different to rest of India I believe and cleaner.
