One of the comments under the BBC match report says they should have been out of sight at HT. Another says they were trying to slow things down in the second half. Either way, a great result and a clean sheet after shipping five at Carlisle. Forest Green would be top if they'd won.

I'd love to see Braintree do well. It feels a bit weird that my hometown (even if I live a few miles away these days) club is now professional. Still seems surreal that they finished 3rd under the Cowleys in 2016*. Little Braintree Town.

* They actually won the first leg of their play-off semi with Grimsby at Blundell Park, doing something Man U couldn't... But they lost in extra time in the second leg. Grimsby were managed by Paul Hurst and had Nsiala and Nolan.

To be honest I don’t think promotion is on the cards for us. As brilliant a job Steve Pitt has been doing the budget has been cut and will do well to match last seasons 17th position.
