| Recruitment, how is it all set up? 02:15 - Oct 22 with 540 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | I’d love to know exactly and I’m sure it’s multiple figureheads signing these deals off. I’ve been fairly critical at times since promotion, generally on the lack of activity overseas and some of the extremely high fees on EFL players. This summer I thought was better but still a few that raised my eyebrows. Now McKenna clearly has a huge say in these matters as you hope and expect. Post promotion it seemed clear he had been promised a hefty budget a decent amount of control to persuade him to stay, along with a massive contract. We can see that in terms of the players he’s been after for multiple windows that we get over the line. You can even go way back to Hirst, Delap (he clearly identified when he was at Hull), Philogene etc. However, he just seems too measured to me to be pulling the trigger on all these guys through the door in the last 18 months. It’s just been rather scattergun and at times felt chaotic to have McKennas fingerprints all over. I could be way off but does feel like some panic signings just because we had the funds and still has a feeling of a bit of an unbalanced squad in certain areas. How much is he being told just to sign this off or give the nod and how many of these players are we demanding to get in the building? Again I might be way off and it might be all him with some help in the scouting department. [Post edited 22 Oct 2:16]

| Recruitment, how is it all set up? on 02:24 - Oct 22 with 487 views | gainsboroughblue | The recruitment has been all over the place. I accept you won't always get it right but sometimes it feels like we're throwing more money out there because what we've already spent hasn't worked. Then we're going further down the list of targets and getting in players for the sake of getting players in. Then in the case of McAteer, landing him then signing Egeli a week later and sending Ogbene out on loan and after all that, counting the days till a 150k sigming from Fleetwood is fit again. I just don't know a. If there is any funds left after the splurge or b. Whoever is at the helm should be trusted with it without a proper review of what we are actually trying to achieve. And even after all that expenditure, we are short in vital areas and really bloated in others without knowing what our best 11 is. | |

I think your point B needs some very careful reflection and consideration. Almost feels like the Man U of the Championship at times in terms of what we have done in the market. All well and good people saying we didn’t have a network for PL and that you won’t get them all correct. I think some people need to genuinely look at our spend compared to other promoted clubs over the lat 5 years. It’s very high and now we are at 1.4 points a game approaching November in the Champ 18 months later. Valid point on the right hand side. It’s also incredible to put in a defensive performance like that at this level when you consider what we have spent on defenders. How do we have our goalkeeping situation how it is after what we spent there? One in Italy and the ex WBA number 1 that’s not a ball player. The number 9, knowing Delap would be off, we really could go on and on. Concerning. [Post edited 22 Oct 2:33]
