Players get checked for jewellery ec when they go onto the pitch, to make sure they dont get injured, but let players go out with hair everywhere, that then gets pulled (accidentally or otherwise) and the refs want to send players off for doing so.
Surely if is seen as such an obvious point of cheating, then the onus should be on avoiding the risk rather than punishing after the event. Especially when it can happen so easily by accident. |  | | |

Players should be allowed to have long hair if they want. I saw Gillingham earlier this season and it was great. The players were all sorts of shapes and sizes, all sorts of hair-cuts. - like the Welsh rugby union team forty years ago. They didn't need numbers on their shirts, the ref could draw a sketch if he wanted to book one. |  | | |
