Boss Jim Magilton was disappointed that the Blues' excellent 12-game run of home wins came to an end with the 0-0 draw against Barnsley, but conceded that the result was a fair one.

Magilton said: “I want to win every game and love pressure like that. I was desperate to beat the record - records like that are there to be broken.

"But we'll take the point and I was happy to keep our fourth clean sheet in a row at home. That gives us something to work on.

"It was a fair result in the end. We had a lot of possession but didn't really create enough openings.

"We didn't match the tempo we have done in previous games and we didn't get the rub of the green that we have had either.”

The Town manager revealed that Alan Lee was feeling unwell prior to the start of the match: "He was suffering before the game with a bug, but was desperate to play.

"We decided to see how he got on for a while, but he was struggling and we had to change it. We probably missed him because they had two big lads at the back and Alan would have loved the physical battle with them."

Magilton confirmed that Owen Garvan was rested after looking tired in recent matches: "He's only a young lad and there are a lot of expectations on him, and that can drag you down at times.

"His performances have dipped a bit lately, which is understandable, and sometimes a young player can benefit from dropping out and taking a look and seeing the pictures again.

"Owen knows we think the world of him and there's another big game on Tuesday night."

Barnsley boss Simon Davey was happy with the point, although he said his side was pushing for all three: "It was very well deserved and we acquitted ourselves well, especially in the first half.

"We passed the ball well and didn't come here for a point - we came to win the game and everyone can see that in the way we passed and created chances.

"In the second half we defended well and I was pleased with our all-round performance

"It takes a bit of magic to score sometimes and Ipswich just couldn't unlock us.

"My players were strong and stood up to be counted. We got a point but on another day, if we'd taken our chances, it could have been a different story."
