![]() Monday, 7th Jan 2008 13:07 Town have confirmed that as expected they will be appealing against Liam Trotter's red card during Saturday's FA Cup third round defeat to Portsmouth. Bolton-based referee Mark Halsey's decision was widely condemned by media pundits over the weekend. Blues club secretary Sally Webb told the official site: "We have looked at the tape of the incident and will be notifying the Football Association today that we will be appealing." Last season Town launched a similar appeal after Steve Bennett had red-carded George O'Callaghan in the fifth round FA Cup tie at Watford, with the FA Disciplinary Commission overturning the dismissal.
