![]() Monday, 7th Jul 2008 13:35 Greek striker Angelos Charisteas is not interested in a move to the Blues, according to a report in Germany. On Saturday, widespread stories in the Greek media claimed that his club Nuremberg had refused Town's offer of £2.7 million for the Greek international. A report in today's Nürnberger Nachrichten claims newly-relegated Nuremberg are not planning to have Charisteas or Russian international Ivan Saenko in their ranks during the 2008/09 season, but that the Greek striker doesn't fancy a move to Town. The newspaper says the 28-year-old is more likely to find a new side in the Bundesliga: "Clubs from half of Europe are interested in Charisteas, but he wants to stay in Germany. That's the reason why he said no to Ipswich over the weekend.†In May, Eintracht Frankfurt were linked with the former Aris Salonica man, although no German club has been linked more recently. Greek reports at the weekend claimed the Blues were ready to offer Charisteas €1.6 million a season (€30,000 or £20,000-a-week) as part of a three-year deal.
