Hamilton Academical left-back Brian Easton is the latest player said to be interesting Town manager Roy Keane. The Blues boss watched the Accies in action against Motherwell at New Douglas Park last Saturday.

Highly-rated Republic of Ireland U21 international James McCarthy was believed to be Keane's reason for making the trip, the Blues, as well as several other clubs, having been linked with the 18-year-old earlier last week. However, a report now claims that Easton, 21, was actually why Keane was in Scotland.

Easton came through the youth system at Hamilton, breaking into the first team in the 2006/07 season. He has now made 115 senior starts and two sub appearances for the Accies, scoring two goals.

Born in Glasgow, Easton, who has previously been linked with Derby County and West Ham, has been capped once each by the Scotland B and U21 sides.

A full-back of the attacking variety, Easton has two years left on his Hamilton contract.
