Tonight's Teams: Peterborough v Town
Tonight's Teams: Peterborough v Town
Tuesday, 25th Aug 2009 19:46

The line-ups for tonight's match against Peterborough have been announced and may add substance to the rumours that key players may have played their last game for Town.

Roy Keane has previously said: “There are certainly one or two players from the weekend who are unlikely to play for me again. And I’ve told them that.

“I’m still learning about these players, but eventually you have to make a decision about one or two and say ‘I don’t like what I’m seeing’. That’s not just on Saturday’s game, but the end of last season and pre-season as well.

So, missing tonight are Jon Stead and Owen Garvan from the 18 named for the Carling Cup match. Is this an indication that they won't play again for the club?

The Town side in full: R Wright, D Wright, Bruce, Balkestein, Delaney, Martin, Colback, Healy, Quinn, Couñago and Priskin. On the substitutes' bench is Lee-Barrett, McAuley, Smith, Trotter, Walters, Upson and Wickham.

what is really scary Roy has had 6 games now , a different team each time and each time the players don't seem to have a bleeding clue .I am in general a positive person but i fear if Saturdays result goes the way of the other games that positive feeling i had 4 weeks ago will start to vanish if it hasn't started already .Come on boys and girls lets get behind the lads they are really going to need all of our support !!!!!!!!!!

what i see through the tunnel apart from new players is a new manager being soon employed cos RK is definately what the doctor didnt order. Many of us know we can do his job (buy players),but they have too gel like the mariners, thijjsens, warks and muhrens so on.
We are knowhere at even 50% the team they were and youve had time RK to get this team ready equipped from the start of the season.
ROLL ON THE NEW YEAR!!!

In the words of Roy Keane 4 months ago (I'm not here to make friends) I have enough already!! Clearly not refering to any of the current ITFC squad. 6 changes tonight, yet the same outcome. Can we please at least stick to the same team for more than 1 game, so I can start to remember some names. What the hell was Healy & Delaney doing playing tonight, sorry but have seen enough of them already to realise they are of no help to the ITFC plight.
I believe at one point tonight we had nearly Irish players on the pitch, no wonder we cant win!!

Getting shot of Keane this early would seem premature and who knows what the next few days may bring maybe a couple of decent signings , but on the other hand Keane has had plenty of time to get a good team together and i think most people will admit those he has let go were not replaced with players better or even at the same level give me Richards or Harding over Delaney anytime , its fingers crossed time .

Keane seems pretty clueless at the moment so here are a few words of advice..

Roy,if you're reading this, the way to win matches is to pick your "best" 11 players and stick with them thus letting them gel together and form some sort of understanding and NOT pick a different side for everygame until we actually win one!

I expect I and most of the other ipswich supporters could do that and get paid a lot less in the process.
