Academy midfielder Josh Carson (pictured) scored and Town team-mates Rory McKeown and Cormac Burke also won Northern Ireland U17 caps as their side drew 2-2 with Greece in Athens on Wednesday. McKeown is a full-back and Burke a midfielder.

The game was the first of two friendlies in the Greek capital with the second on Friday. The games are warm-ups for the UEFA U17 Championships in Andorra later this month.

The Northern Irish youngsters face the hosts, Malta and Holland in the tournament which starts on October 22nd.

Northern Ireland U17s: Ross Glendinning — Linfield, Ryan McLaughlin - Lisburn Youth (Rory Battersby — Glenavon), Jordan Watson — Sunderland (Rory McKeown - Ipswich Town), Luke McCullough - Dungannon Youth, Ben Oliver - Tranmere Rovers, Martin Mawhinney - Ards Youth (Liam McAllinden — Wolves), Cormac Burke - Ipswich Town (Stefan Lavery - Dungannon Youth), Mathew Ball - Norwich City (Ryan Brobbell — Middlesbrough), Michael McLellan - Preston NE (Johnny Cosgrove — Fulham), James Knowles - Blackburn Rovers, Joshua Carson - Ipswich Town. Unused: Gareth Deane - Lisburn Youth.
