Former England manager Steve McClaren is claimed to be the frontrunner to succeed Roy Keane as Town manager, according to one of this morning’s tabloids. McClaren is currently manager of Dutch side FC Twente.

Earlier in the week chief executive backed Keane despite the Blues’ disappointing start to the season, however, this morning’s report claims club owner and chairman Marcus Evans is less happy and that McClaren has been discussed as a possible successor to the Irishman.

It’s highly unlikely that Clegg was speaking purely for himself as is suggested rather than for Evans and the board as a whole and the story appears to be nothing more than tabloid rumour-mongering.

perhaps this story was sent out by ITFC to make all the fans back Keane?!!
The club are sticking by Keane(or so it seems)and we the fans should do too. A wall of noise and support for those next 2 home games will help them toward victory

maclaren is about as much use as a hand brake in a canoe. I think he should stay in motor racing and leave football alone.

Well said - good old Jimbo..doesn't seem so bad after all now does he folks.

If Keane doesn't turn this around then please God/Marcus Evans let it be Alan Curbishley who comes in - he and Ipswich would be a match made in heaven.

Steve McClaren or Orville the Duck quite frankly would do a better job than the existing 'manager' Keane. Bring it on!

NO. If Keano does get tanked no more mistakes or gambles. We need a mature grown up who can man manage our awkward bunch & has a history of getting teams promoted.

Burley has to be the man. During the 'Championship years' my favourite in 30 years as a supporter, he got clever loans, bargains & he loves this club. Come back south Georgie to your real home. It's perfect.

This has to be a joke! i cant think of anything worse than a change of manager now. So roy isnt the super manager we were all hoping for but he has had what 14 league games? were getting better, slowly, but were getting there. Roy needs time!!!!!!

I don't think you will find Marcus (minus £12m & counting) Evans will give Roy (5 points from safety) Keane much more time.
