McAuley in Northern Ireland Squad

Town defender Gareth McAuley has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their friendly with Serbia at Windsor Park on Saturday 14th November.

McAuley, who has previously won 20 full caps and has scored one goal, is currently sidelined with a thigh injury sustained in the draw at Plymouth.

If the Thigh is OK it's good to help him get back match fitness. Starting to put in some good performances both home and away. Hope he does well and has buckets of confidence following a decent match as he had against Poland.

I'd rather McAuley wasn't risked in a meaningless friendly. He is still an important part of the squad and is arguably our best defender.

Still rate Gareth, he has been here a season and half and he has had his low points especialy this season at boro, and at home to forest, but he always comes back and puts in solid performances like he did against sheff utd, swansea, watford, and last season he had a brilllant second half to the season.

For me him at Alex are the best centre halfs at the club
