Clegg: Nothing Has Changed
Clegg: Nothing Has Changed
Tuesday, 24th Nov 2009 15:25

Chief executive Simon Clegg has repeated his backing for manager Roy Keane in the wake of yesterday’s tabloid claim that the Blues boss was set to be sacked.

Clegg said: “The reports are absolute rubbish. I spoke to the media only recently and reiterated our full backing to the manager then and nothing has changed in our position.”

Meanwhile, Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has commented on Roy Keane’s remarks regarding Ireland’s controversial World Cup exit and the FAI: "I found them disturbing. I didn't enjoy hearing it. He did great for Sunderland FC and I won't forget that, but I won't always agree with everything he does."

Keane’s biographer Eamon Dunphy has also made his thoughts known on the matter.

On a serious note leaving calling Horry's a plonker, which is rather pointless, but I have said before I don't want to see any man loose his job, but enough is enough we need a professional experienced football manager. RK isn't this!

Get the lot out - Evans, Clegg and Keane. I love to see greed backfire but when it involves my club it's not funny.

Bloody right Clegg!! Nothing has changed, 3 & half months of crap football, from crap signings, I getting sick of this drivel we have to put up with week in week out, I dont know what the solution is, but YOU & KEANE are paid a bloody fortune to know what the problem is & how to sort it out!!

OUR CLUB IS IN TROUBLE....

Good grief! Give the man a chance. Give the team a chance. Rome wasn't built in a day. Why are people so impatient and so demanding of instant success? If we sack Keane do you really think everything is suddenly going to be better..? It is disappointing and frustrating so far but we've got to stay behind the team and the manager. Keep the faith. COYB!!

brockleyblueboy, i totally agree with everything you are saying. i also get more frustrated with some of these comments than the football on the pitch.

p.s CGS, NICE LIFE!!!!!!!!!! you seem to spend your life on here complaining about Keane.

It seems that many people have already conceded that Town will lose to Cardiff at the weekend. A bit defeatist in my view, Cardiff have lost as many games as Town this season - a draw looks to be a better prediction of the result!!!

pickles-How many more games are you going to give Keane to sort this mess out ?

itfchorry, It is not for me to say, ME owns the club and gave Keano a 2 year contract.
If we are still in bottom three in Jan I will be getting worried.
Sorry for calling u a plonker, just sick and tired of people not backing manager and the team. If people attack the manager they are also slating the players.

"if we lose the next two games (one of which we are highly likely to lose), we are in a world of trouble. "

I find it completely unbelievable that some people STILL have no idea of the CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING form we need to start showing IMMEDIATELY, in order merely to avoid relegation. Suggest they get out the league table, and start calculating points required per games remaining. Remove your woolly blue-tinted specs and take an objective look - we are in the poo NOW, and RK has failed to bring in a striker or make the most of those we have for the past 3 months. Quite the opposite in fact - Pablo training with the yoofs? - jeeez!!!!

Have been called worse Pickles ! Look I have been supporting the Boys for 41 years and the last thing that is needed at this moment in time is for any Town fans to be falling out . I like many am very concerned and can't see a way out for us under Keane

Ok, I have only supported Ipswich from when David Best was in goal and I feel if you attack the manager or the team you are attacking me.
Lets all put this petty bickering to one side and hope we get that Striker we all want in on loan. If and when Keano is no longer our manager then I will also let u know my true feelings.

Darn it, more attacking going on here than bloody pitch,im with you itchycory,we are needing new guidance and quick. As has been said already,if you start looking ahead at fixtures and points it makes very worrying reading, [please dont say the season starts this week,we had all that weeks ago, we are eating away into the season and are already two games adrift ,we cannot afford to drop points that is fact .

Niall Quinn find Keane's remarks re: Ireland's match " disturbing !" . I find everything that is happening at the once revered Portman Road equally " disturbing " under the present management ! How much is a one -way train ticket to Portsmouth ? ( NB RK !)

Injured animal, I'm fine thanks hopefully you are too.
Yes things pretty much the same, slightly better. I remember making stupid comments about Roy before but looking at the bigger picture even if Roy was to go who would we get in?
He's a winner by nature and I'm sure he'll get it right.
How far away were Sir Bobby and Sir Alex away from the sack in their early days with us and Man Utd respectively. Look what happened there. Enough said!

That sounds like either a personality complex or paranoia. Whatever the case, it's a psychiatrist's field day.

Nothing wrong with the squad we have now - just need a new manager.

For all those saying we won't be able to attract a decent striker, i swear we just got a decent goalkeeper on loan. Yes, he was from the bottom team in the Prem but he was one of our best players while he was here. Also, when people say we finished 1 point off the play-offs last year, it would probably have been 7 points as it was Keane that won those 2 games(one being 3-0 away to Cardiff). Keane has a 100% win rate against Cardiff as Ipswich manager.

Get behind the team. I'll be there on Sunday supporting the team AND KEANE.

KEANO'S BARMY ARMY!
