Scunthorpe Pitch Currently Playable
Scunthorpe Pitch Currently Playable
Friday, 18th Dec 2009 09:41

Scunthorpe United say their Glanford Park pitch is currently playable but that Saturday’s game against Town depends on how Friday night’s frost affects the surface.

Covers have been on the pitch since Wednesday and they should be able to withstand the temperature falling to minus four, Friday’s expected temperature. A greater drop could see areas of the pitch freeze.

The Scunthorpe groundstaff plan to remove the covers early on Saturday and assess the condition of the surface. Referee Andy Haines will be on call for an early pitch inspection if required.

Good, what do they want a cookie! Jee whizz, it's nearly 2010 and this sort of thing shouldn't even be an issue. I hope we absolutily batter them. 4-2, boo yeah

brockleyblueboy, an absolute battering, '4-2'?
I think your opionion of an absolute battering and my opinion of an absolute battering differ greatly.

Greek tractor, in our current striking form and their crappy pitch that will be battering ;-)

Reason I said that score was I have been giving it the biggun about prediciting scores and have said this score on a post a little while ago so I have to sstick with it. Just 3 points will do though

Pitch may be O.K but dont forget they call off games if the terraces and roads around the ground are not match fit !!!

Brockley - you really are a tool, what has the year got to do with it? Can't do much about the weather can we? Or should everyone play indoors.

Looking forward to my trip to Scunny but games are called off for any little thing these days and they won't want to play an in-form Town side if it can be avoided.

Don't think it being 2009 makes any difference to natures wrath! It's not like all clubs below the premier league can afford heated pitches/better covers etc!

Also BJC, hope you are joking again, because you seem like one of the most miserable/negative fairly dim people I've ever heard!

Would hate to be at your house for xmas, misery and mash for dinner!
