Priskin Interested in Permanent QPR Move
Priskin Interested in Permanent QPR Move
Monday, 29th Mar 2010 10:38

Striker Tamás Priskin says he would be interested in making his loan move to QPR a permanent switch in the summer. The 23-year-old scored his first goal for the Londoners on Saturday in their 2-2 draw at Preston.

Priskin, who joined the Blues from Watford for £1.7 million last summer and is contracted until 2012, says he is happy at Loftus Road and would like to stay and continue to play alongside on-loan Spurs man Adel Taarabt: “I'm really enjoying my time at QPR and delighted to be here.

“I want to score more goals for the team. Of course it would be nice to stay and play with Taarabt at this club."

The Hungarian international, who scored twice in 10 starts and nine sub appearances for Town earlier in the season, moved on loan to Rangers in January and has played eight games for the side now managed by Neil Warnock.

Meanwhile, midfielder David Norris has given his backing to underfire boss Roy Keane: "We are 100 per cent behind the manager. We realise we've let him down this season.

"But you can see how much we respect the manager, want to play for the manager and do well for the manager.

"You can only learn from him. He was some player and he does see things that he passes on to me and other midfield players.

"Teams don't get success straight away. It hasn't been a full season yet and will take a bit of time."

If we can get back the majority of the fee we paid, fair enough, otherwise he should be on his way back to portman road for pre-season. Still has plenty to offer but the manager needs to get the best out of him.

we will never get back what he cost us , but I would like him back here anyway , he is better than the strikers we have here now and given a chance will score more than Walters , Pablo and Healy

Try to sell him for £1.5M, QPR have more money than sense!

I think thats a sad indication of one of RK's major faults (if you view that way)....he exopects such hig standards of players that some of them feel threatened by it and cower away !

Priskin 1 goal in 8 games for QPR, Stead 2 goals in 9 Coventry. We must cut our losses and buy a 20 goal a season striker.

There's no chance of us recouping much of the fee we've paid. He's hardly enhanced his reputation this season. Perhaps we should ask ourselves why. He was always a player that had potential; probably still has. But has he already finished his drink at RK's last chance saloon? If so like Pim he will be gone. However if he can put this season behind him and apply himself to why he was hired in the first place, ie to score goals, he might still have a future. Doubt it myself. Recent history suggests that anyone who goes anywhere on loan doesn't have much of a future with us. Let's see how wrong I am in the summer.

That's disgraceful by him tbh. He only just joined us, yet he wants to leave? i want him to stay but i don't think he will and will become a forgettable purchase. =/

And if he said "well, I am enjoying my time here but would rather play for Ipswich" people would still slate him....

Jeez!

Lets face it, he hasnt been given much of a chance at Ipswich, so good for him if he is getting regular games with the type of player he needs to play with to be at his best.

I'd rather see him here. He has major potential.

We haven't seen the best from him and it's not his fault he cost that much money and wants to be playing 1st team football.
Keane may have overspent, but time will tell. I think he should be given at least next season to prove his critics wrong.
Good luck Tamas and Come on you Blues!

I expect Priskin would score lots of goals in scotland like stokes! For sunderland stokes got 3 goals in 36appreances! Sounds bit strikers. Funny Stokes was loan'd and then sold in a relativley short period of time........ de ja vu!

I love it when people are saying we can do better than xyz or we need proven 20 goals a season strikers !!
We are managed by a well known odd ball with a clueless coaching staff , lying in bottom half of championship - Yes I am sure we will attract players
I say it again - I think we have some players capable of doing well but not under this coaching team
One player should be bought in up front Simeon Jackson

Personally I don't understand why people have been getting on Priskin's back since he's joined us. If people cast their minds back to when Pablo first joined us (ok he didn't cost us 1.7m) he struggled to adapt in his first season, and both Pablo and Priskin are very similar players, both are techniqually gifted and good calm finishers. Priskin's transfer fee naturally raised expectations, putting extra pressure on him to perform from the start. I still believe that Priskin is and will be a good talented footballer, and if he doesn't prove that with Ipswich then that's Ipswich's and the managements fault, not necessarily all Priskin's.
Surely part of the managements job description is to help improve players ability, raise their confidence in their ability. That hasn't happened in Priskin's case and looks like a player who's morale has been severely knocked.
He's still young and has time to prove his worth to the club and the management. I sincerly hope he comes back in the summer and show why the club spent 1.7m.

For all the money we spent on him, once we are safe, hopefully this Saturday, he should be brought back and made to start everyone of the games until the end of the season. That will sort him out with his run of games required and he should never be substitued unless he's carried off on the little blue tractor.

I still think he can do a job for us, would be dissapointed to see him move on. He deserves a chance next year.

Pretty staggered by this - I was at Loftus Road for the QPR v Derby match, and loads of QPR fans booed when Priskin's name was announced on the tannoy...amazing what one goal can do!
