Trotter Not Rushing Into Any Decisions
Trotter Not Rushing Into Any Decisions

Liam Trotter says he is making no decision on his future quite yet. The 21-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is currently on loan at Millwall with Lions boss Kenny Jackett having made it clear he would be interested in signing the Ipswich-born player in the summer.

Trotter said: "I think it's just a case of waiting for the season to finish. There's no need to rush anything because, although I am out of contract, I'm comfortable with the situation I'm in and I'm focused on making sure I get Millwall up and into the Championship and we'll take it from there.

"Whatever happens, happens. If I worry about things like that too soon then it may or may not affect my football, so I'd rather not take that risk."

The 21-year-old says he’s not sure whether he’ll be given a new deal by the Blues: "It could go either way so I'm not focussing on it too much, I'm just waiting for the season to end and getting Millwall up so that whatever needs doing can be done."

Trotter, perhaps hinting that he might favour a move to South London, says that he increasingly feels at home at the Den: "When you come on loan to a club, especially one where you're there for a long time, you start to become part of the make-up of the club as you become more and more involved.

"Right now I feel like a Millwall player: it's how I think and certainly how I hope everybody thinks of me.”

i think a move to Millwall would be good for Trotter, he certainly isnt good enough to hold a place in our midfield, and who knows if he does leave he could be playing in the championship next season anyway

Trotter was possibly the worst town player this season.

Similar last season under Magic who like Keane gave Trotter a good run of games before shipping him out on loan.

Not rushing into anything is reflected in his football as well. Not good enough for ITFC I'm afraid and will probably be on his way.

heard good things about trotter on loan at milwall, he is pretty frustrating though because he prob has unfulfilled talent and potential and if he pushes on could become a good midfielder. the 1 criticism I have of the leadbitter/norris partnership is there is a real lack of height in the centre of the park and trotter would certainly add height to the team, whether he's good enough remains to be seen however

Just Liam and Owen Garvan left of the 2005 Youth team. It will be a sad day when the last of them leaves the club, with their–and the club's–potential unfulfilled.

I am afraid there is no coincidence that once Trotter was dropped, we played better. I am sorry, but he's not very good at this level. League one and a team like Millwall is right up his street and good luck to him.

Bennyblue has yet again sound a way of posting an anti Roy comment, despite this being about Trotter! You have to question whether this guy supports the club.

Yallop i know what you mean, like he had a run out in the team under Magilton, scored against Burnley and then got shipped out to Scunnie.. clearly terrible.

Mind you he was this season i agree on that

I did smirk when he said he wasn't going to rush into a decision! Sad as it is, with him being Ipswich born and bred, i cant see Trotter having a future at ITFC as he just hasn't pushed on, so a move to Millwall is his best option

Maybe Liam has not shown his best at Ipswich but just look how well Millwall have done since his arrival, no wonder they want to sign him? and I am sure Scunthorpe fans will agree after his loan spell there at the end of last season. A local talent that will have a good career thanks to ITFC, shame that I do not believe it will be with his home town and will probably come back to haunt us at some point.

i was impressed with Trotter early doors, playing in a new role as defensive midfielder i thought he did quite well, especially given the sh*tty atmosphere at portman road early in the season. He has performed very well for Millwall as well and has earned himself another chance for Town if he wants it.
