Priskin in Hungary Squad
Priskin in Hungary Squad
Monday, 17th May 2010 15:45

Town striker Tamás Priskin has been named in the Hungary squad for friendlies against Germany and Holland.

The 23-year-old will be hoping to win his 25th and 26th caps and add to his seven international goals when the Hungarians take on the Germans at home on May 29th and the Dutch in Amsterdam on June 5th. Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop, a Town summer target, is also in the squad.

Priskin spent the end of the season on loan at QPR, having joined the Blues for £1.7 million from Watford last summer, signing a contract until 2012.

Perhaps the Hungry supporters do not get on his back, so he plays with confidence!

there is no doubt in his talent but, it just hasn't happened for him with us so far but i am confident it will next season with wickham up top with him. as we all know he didnt have a decent striker playing alongside him last season.

I hope he gets another chance here , Priskin & Wickham could be a good partnership , but it will need the support of the so called fans who booed him even before he got on the pitch .

strikers thrive on confidence , so get behind him , he's an ITFC player !

I hope he does come good for us (if he stays) but I don't think you can heap all the blame on the fans, whenever Priskin played he looked un-interested to me, he has to prove he is worthy of the Town shirt. All strikers go through bad patches, but a lack of commitment to the course is a greater problem. Anyway as I said I hope I'm proved wrong & he starts the new season on fire!

I do not recall supporters "getting on his back". Perhaps the reason for Priskin's low morale partly due to the fact he came here for big money but then was rarely selected in the first 11 to begin with. He didn't get an early run of matches and his confidence dropped away. I don't blame the fans at all.

I think Priskin will do well . Keane has a wonderful way of destroying players' confidence ! dropping them - putting them up for sale / loan with and without them knowing etc . A good manager will bring out the best in players - One day we will get another manager who will do this -

Priskin and Wickham sounds like a sweet combo. Connor as the target man.

so he can make the hungary team but not the ipswich team does this have anything to do with roys mismanagement of players and the team i assume he will have a great world cup and score the goal that knocks england out

priskin will no doubt come good... what he needs is a proper run in a confident team and the backing of everyone, including us supporters! how people can say he's a bad player is beyond me. he clearly isn't.

Bennyblue ... er, how can I say this? Hungary are NOT in the World Cup!!! So for all your anti-Keane vitriol, he and his countrymen won't be knocking England out. So please sit down and be quiet, there's a good lad.

I liked how Priskin played on the shoulder of the last man and had the pace to get one on one. Yes he missed most of them but the talents there.

Maybe a few goals in pre season will do him the world of good.

Priskin has now played 103 games in the Championship and scored 19 goals that is 1 in every 5.4 games ,he had one average season the same as Lisbie .Last season 2 goals in 30 games for two clubs did both managers not give him confidence or maybe he is just not up to it ?
