The Town squad return to Playford Road for the start of pre-season this morning. The Blues start their 2010/11 Championship campaign when they visit Middlesbrough on Saturday 7th August.

Defender Tommy Smith won’t be amongst those back at the club today, the New Zealand World Cup star has been given extra time off and won’t return until July 16th.

Town begin their pre-season fixture programme at Newmarket Town on Tuesday 6th July (KO 7.45pm).

Meanwhile, Town owner and chairman Marcus Evans is being blamed for empty seats at World Cup stadia after hospitality packages were cancelled, according to a report this morning.

Yeah, Keane's hard work during the pre-season has really paid off hasn't it? Didn't he say he wanted new signings in by now and didn't he say the hard work started immediately after the last game of last season? Although he did say last year that anyone competant could finish in the top half of the championship? Keane is just plain clueless. And even some of you pro-Keane idiots should be realising it by now.

Yawn... yawn...!

Another Daily Mail story (obviously true)... everyone having a grumble about Keane... oh so the new season has started then - even if just in a pre-season capacity!!

I was just pondering the following poem and it led me to a revelation/decision in regard to my response to Keano and the new season to come...

God,

Grant me the

Serenity to accept the things I cannot change

Courage to change the things I can

and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.

I have, therefore, decided that although I have sometimes struggled to do so, from this moment forth I am going to get RIGHT BEHIND Roy and his plans for the Town.

I can't change anything about him being here so instead I'll accept it and hey, who knows, I might even ENJOY it!!!
The thing is, I also realised that I really, REALLY don't want to turn into one of those whining, ill-informed, negative and cynical Roy-haters who will see only the most abject darkness in whatever it is that he does.

So, I am now onboard Roy - where are we going? Into the top six, that's where!!!

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and this now includes you Mr Keane...)

I think these pro-Keano's must be demented in the head !!!! What has he done for us that I and many others have clearly missed??????? Last year was dross, Keane seems clueless when it comes to tactics and most of his signings have been crap at best. If he had bought some quality players this pre-season or at least given me something to be optimistic about, then maybe I wouldn't be as worried as I am. I predict we have more of the same this year until of course Cleggy gets the thumbs down call from our Howard Hughes type owner.
