Colback: No Hesitation in Rejoining Blues Monday, 18th Oct 2010 19:26
Returning loanee Jack Colback says he had no hesitation in joining the Blues for a second loan spell despite interest from a number of other Championship clubs. The Sunderland midfielder, who is 21 on Sunday, is set to make his second debut for Town at Watford on Tuesday.
Colback told the club site: "There were other options but it was a no brainer when I knew Ipswich were interested in me.
"I was treated really well here last season. The manager brought the best out of me so far. I get on well with the players and I like the club, so I had no hesitation when Steve Bruce told me it was OK for me to go out on loan.
"There were other clubs interested but that would have meant trying to settle into new surroundings. I know the club, I know the staff and the players and, having enjoyed my time here last year, that was important.
"Now I'm looking forward to playing some games, although I know I've got to get in the side first and that's going to be difficult because the team is doing well."

FFS Keane Please play him in the middle so he can dictate the play and play the style all real Ipswich fans want to see, where it is on the floor! He's quality, but maybe too good and versitile like Peters where he cant shine in his main position but be good in others. Good answer BTW like too know loanees want to give their all for another team.

Unfortunately s6blue, I think you may be right, and it was only th'other day when many were saying that we don't need Mattock. We are short of actual fullbacks and it doesn't matter how well we end up doing this season, I will never be convinced that allowing a solid Championship quality player like David Wright leave was a good idea. (But enough of dragging up past arguments) The additional loan player RK is talking off could just as easily be a full back as a striker for me. Poor old Jaime Peters has been shifted all over the place (often in the same game) too much over the last 12 months for my liking. O'Dea had done well at LB despite being a center half to be fair, he's quite a loss.

welcome back! | | |

Good to have a versatile player. I would however play him in midfield tonight against Watford rather than left back. A five man midfield is acceptable away from home. In view of injuries to O'Dea and Kennedy, I'd bring Delaney in at left back to fill the position he was originally signed for from QPR last year

Len Brennan Your point on Jamie Peters I agree he seems to be one of the forgot men in this side. He plays in any position he is given and always gives his all and to think he was signed by Magilton he must be one of the longest serving players in the town side now.
