Striker Tamás Priskin has thanked fans for getting behind him and helping him to play the best football of his Blues career. The Hungarian has started to find his form this season after a disappointing first year with Town following his £1.7 million move from Watford.

Priskin said: “I’ve had to win the fans over. But they were very good to me last Saturday and I was really pleased with them.

“It’s very important for a player when you’re having a hard time, because you need to have the supporters behind you. That gives you a lift, and I think they did that to me last Saturday.

“I think I’m currently playing my best football for Ipswich Town, but I was just part of a team last weekend.”

Meanwhile, former Town left-back Neil Thompson has left his job as the academy manager at Leeds after a review of the youth system at Elland Road. Chairman Ken Bates cited a lack of players coming through as the reason for the move: "If you think about it, there hasn't been a been name for a couple of seasons."

Elsewhere, ex-Blues keeper Neil Alexander has signed a new three-year deal with Rangers, the side he joined from Town for £500,000 in January 2008.

One-time Blues loanee David Healy has moved to Doncaster Rovers on a one-month loan from Sunderland.

dantown added 21:50 - Nov 5 I'm completely ashamed of our fans, the moaning & lack of atmosphere since the northstand was replaced is hard to accept sometimes, the bloody budgies down the road are really showing us up at the moment & it driving me mental !!.. As for booing you own players, I can't not beleve the ignorance of some fans, how can that possibley help the team or the player's confindence in any way.. Shambles !
