O'Dea Wins Cap in Irish Victory Saturday, 26th Mar 2011 22:20
Loan defender Darren O’Dea won his fifth full cap as the Republic of Ireland beat a Macedonia side including former Blue Veliche Shumulikoski 2-1 in a Euro 2012 qualifier in Dublin this evening.
Celtic man O’Dea played the full 90 minutes with Aiden McGeady and Robbie Keane on the scoresheet for the Irish before Ivan Trickovski pulled a goal back for the Macedonians just before half-time.
Republic of Ireland: Westwood, Foley, O'Dea, Dunne, Kilbane, McGeady, Whelan, Gibson (Fahey 76), Duff, Doyle (Long 18), Keane (McCarthy 87).

O'Dea played very well on saturday. I think he has the ability to play at a higher level than Championship. He is still young player and if he is available we should be interested. Than again I would prefer St Ledger. He was out injured hense O' Dea starting |  | |

O'Dea did play well but at centre half. Ironically McAuley normally plays right back for Northern Ireland. |  | |
