Sheepshanks Set to Step Down From FA Board
Sheepshanks Set to Step Down From FA Board
Monday, 4th Apr 2011 21:42

Former Town chairman David Sheepshanks will step down from the FA board this summer to concentrate on his role with the National Football Centre at Burton, according to reports.

Sheepshanks, who remains a director of Town as well as the chairman of the PLC which owns 12.5% of the club and also the Charitable Trust, is one of two FA board representatives from the Football League, along with Barnet’s Tony Kleanthous, who could lose his position if the Bees are relegated to the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Sheepshanks took over as chairman of the St George's Park project at Burton just over a year ago.

Yeh shame, for all the grief he recieved during some of his time he is a decent bloke who does a good job and knows his football, however after all the waiting it's important to have someone of his stature in charge of this project which could be the key to the future of English national football and he has a big job on his hands.

@dan_itfc55 NFC at Burton is seen as very important for the future development of young English talent, get our youngsters playing/training like the do in Spain/Holland, etc.

FA just taking their sweet ass time about it as usual!!!

Agree with all the comments so far. Never did agree with those fans that gave him a hard time. Only met him once but seemed a decent bloke and has the club definately in his heart 300%. A big thanks for all you've done so far and best wishes for your future.

For all that went wrong in the end while Mr Sheepshanks was incharge at least we had some there who was a true blue and would speak to the ordinary supporter. I know ME's money bailed us out but he should have kept Mr Sheepshanks on as CEO instead of that nobody Clegg.
