Watford Rebuff QPR Bid for Graham
Watford Rebuff QPR Bid for Graham
Friday, 20th May 2011 15:36

Watford are reported to have rebuffed newly-promoted QPR’s £2.5 million offer for striker Danny Graham. On Tuesday, the 25-year-old, who scored 27 goals during 2010/11, was reported to be a Town target.

Speaking last week, Graham said he would only consider moves to the Premier League this summer: "There's going to be speculation, I'd be devastated if there wasn't. I'm contracted to Watford, I love it here, but I'm not going to lie or kid anyone, I want to play at the top level.

"If that happens, it happens. If not and another Championship club comes in, I'm not interested. I want to be a Premiership player, I'm not going to hide the fact, but we'll see what happens."

Newcastle and Swansea are also amongst those to have been linked with the former Carlisle and Middlesbrough man.

crock - it makes sense as we was linked! i know im interested as we all was talking about him the other day. We need to look for realistic targets and graham was never one of them imo. i think we have a better chance with sharp!

I can tell you I am getting pretty pived off with people saying why report this or that. This ia a fansite not an official ITFC site.

I would be bored, if it were not for the hope of new signings.

Isn't he going to be a bit slow by then?

Think this makes him sound arrogant, I understand ambition, but ruling out all other Championship sides makes him sound as if he thinks he is too good for the championship. What if say West Ham made a move for him?

If West Ham come in for him, then he'd definately be better off at Watford!!!!

I am afraid the reality is this ... ITFC are (sadly) no better than Watford. He won't be signing for us. This is an unrealistic target - if of course the rumour was true in the first place.

that means he's probably out of our price range then

Don't think he sounds arrogant, he loves it at Watford so simply said he would sign for only a premier club otherwise he wants to stay where he is....sounds better than most players in the football world of today where players only loyalty is to their bank accounts.

Agree Wickedblue : - Having said that, he's probably on a good few quid at Watford.

If a player is ambitious then they should be aiming for the Premier League. Graham is an example of this and good luck to him.
These are the players we need, so it could make the task of recruiting even harder for Ipswich.
