![]() Thursday, 2nd Jun 2011 08:48 Town’s Jaime Peters won his 26th full Canadian cap overnight as his side drew 2-2 with Ecuador in a friendly in Toronto. The versatile 24-year-old came on as a 79th minute sub in midfield in a game which was a warm-up for next week’s CONCACAF Gold Cup in the US. Canada were ahead at the break via Terry Dunfield but Ecuador went into a 2-1 lead with Christian Benitez and Michael Arroyo netting goals within two minutes of one another just after the hour mark. Tosaint Ricketts scored the equaliser in injury time. The Canadians face the hosts in their Gold Cup opener in Detroit next Tuesday, then are subsequently in action against Guadeloupe on June 11th in Tampa and Panama on June 14th in Kansas City as they look to repeat the success of their 2000 squad, which included ex-Blues Craig Forrest and Jason De Vos.
