Town will play Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers in a pre-season friendly at Portman Road this summer. Mick McCarthy’s men, who avoided relegation on the final day of the season, will be in Suffolk on Saturday 30th July (KO 3pm).

The Blues last faced Wolves during their 2008/09 Championship title-winning campaign when the Midlanders won 2-0 at Portman Road via goals from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and David Edwards and the match at Molineux ended in a 0-0 draw.

yorkshireblue added 17:05 - Jun 2 The idea of pre-season games isn't to give fans a chance to see a big club, but for the players to hone match fitness and for the manager to see where the squad is and learn something. Whilst we would all want to watch Barcelona, what exactly would we learn from that? Whilst not being the most attractive of games for a fan, it should be a good fixture and help set the team up for the forthcoming season which is the point of these fixtures.
