Cardiff Accept Town Offer for Chopra Thursday, 9th Jun 2011 08:24
Cardiff have accepted a £1.5 million offer from Town for striker Michael Chopra, according to reports in Wales. The Blues made an initial £1 million bid which was rejected before returning with an increased offer in recent days.
Chopra, Cardiff’s highest paid player last season, now looks set to hold talks with the Town management regarding personal terms.
As is their usual policy, the club are remaining tight-lipped regarding the situation, although it seems likely the Welsh reports are true and that a deal could be completed in the days to come.
The Newcastle-born frontman scored 11 goals in 28 starts and 11 sub appearances during 2010/11 despite being in and out of the Cardiff side due to injuries.

why are peaple arguing about how much a member of footballing staff gets payed. out of us lot, genually how many know what is said and done behind closed doors. there seems to be a lot of needless fingerpointing about whos doing this that the other wrong. lets get behind the team.its the only reason why we go there
BARHAMBLUE you seriously think that ME doesnt negotiate and decide fees and wages for certain transfers! i know this for a fact! so dont give up your day job. oh! and chopra coming here! get in
ME is owner he doesnt have to many shareholders to answer. trust me he decides fees for some players! Not all of them but the odd one now n again. ipswich is like a hobby for him not so much a business. yes he has got to be cautious but hey you aint gona make no money running a championship club.
I have been negative at time regarding Clegg, but just a thought whos information are we bading the negativity on. All the info we have about Clegg has all come from Keane, I have not heard any players saying I wanted to sign but he was the problem it all comes from a comment from Keane last summer I had players here wanting to sign. I think it may of been bad management from Keane!! Yes Clegg is naive and inexperianced he now has a teacher in Jewell
Would love to see him here. Nice to see such optimism on the board again-not seen since the "very near" transfer of Charlie Austin..... Lets be honest-none of us have a clue how much he was paid at Cardiff so how do we know its a sticking point? We wouldn't have contract negotiations with him unless we thought we could get him.... Chopra and Wickham would be a VERY good combination-as good as any in this league....
You guys who are moaning about our wage structure should read this if you haven't already. It will probably mean we will be hit by it even with our structure.
