Peters Looking for First Game at Gold Cup Tuesday, 14th Jun 2011 08:13
Jaime Peters will hope to make his first appearance at the CONCACAF Gold Cup later today when Canada face Panama in Kansas City in their final group game. The Canadians need a win to guarantee a place in the knock-out stages but could still make it through even they fail to beat their group leaders.
Canada currently sit third in their group having lost 2-0 to the US but after beating Guadeloupe 1-0 at the weekend.
Peters has previously won 26 full caps and could be involved in today’s game with one or two of the Canadian squad suffering from injuries.

Even Canada have realised he's poor and before someone points to the Arsenal game (where everyone was v good) look at Millwall, Chelsea and Forest games in which Jewell made his decision that Peters isn't good enough. Gets his wages off the bill. COYB

does yallop know something we dont.i thought when he played more often than not he put a good shift in for us.also the goal he scored this season and the intent he showed when he scored it keeps saying to me that we are missing a trick here.i've got a feeling hes going to be one of those players that comes back to rub our noses in it.

Go on Jaime! Don't listen to that player-hating budgie! Play in midfield forever babe! Good luck in the Gold Cup all the best!

I like JP, but he is NOT a right back. Edwards is miles better, but even then I think we are in desperate need of a 'proper' right-back. Jamie would be a good impact player - particularly with his pace, but clearly not rated by PJ.

4dy I'm just saying it as I saw it last season. Like I said above I saw him at Millwall, Chelsea and Forest and he only came on as sub twice in about last 15 or so matches. That says it all. Ask Jewell his opinion if you think I'm wrong

Canada v Panama was a 1-1 tie and so if USA beat Guadaloupe. Canada will not progress to the quarter finals. Once again Jaime didn't get to play.

I agree he is not good enough to start games. And should be good enough to start games by now. However he is a very good impact player for us.
