Town are amongst a number of Championship clubs reported to be interested in Sheffield United frontman Daniel Bogdanovic. The Blues, Burnley and Peterborough are said to be chasing the Maltese international, who has a year left on his Blades contract but is understood to be available on a free transfer.

Bogdanovic played for a number of clubs in Malta as well as in Italy, Hungary and Bulgaria before joining Barnsley in January 2009 and scoring in his debut, a 2-1 defeat to Town at Oakwell. In June 2010 the 6ft 1in tall striker moved to Bramall Lane on a Bosman.

Capped 33 times by Malta, having been born in Libya to Serbian parents, Bogdanovic scored five goals in 13 starts 20 sub appearances for the Blades as they were relegated to League One during 2010/11.

Elsewhere, reported Town target David Nugent will make up his mind about his future when he returns from holiday next week with Premier League sides said to be amongst those interested in signing the one-time England international.

QPR and Swansea have reportedly joined the likes of Town and Leicester in the hunt for the out-of-contract former Portsmouth frontman.

Nugent would be much better, but I doubt he will join us.

Perfectly understandable. But Daniel Bogdanovic? My Granny would try harder.... What I really don't understand is why Burnley and Peterborough would want him too? (and why do we keep getting linked to every player thats linked to the Posh?). Never rated the guy even when everyone raved about him a few years ago. Just seems "absent minded" a lot of the time,almost like he loses concentration at the most important moments ("hey, Hyam is in a great position-if I get into the box I might have a chance. hey, there's a sparrow flying overhead! whoop, the chance is gone"). Can imagine he is a VERY frustrating forward to play alongside of as I'm sure in training he will give the odd bit of magic.

Also he is 31 surely we want to be looking at players the other side of 30, if we are looking to go up this season we've got to look past these players as they clearly are not going to be up to scratch. Im sure this is just speculation well at least i hope it is.....
