![]() Saturday, 27th Aug 2011 20:35 Town's U18s fell to their second successive defeat at the start of the FA Premier Academy League season when they lost 3-1 at Manchester City on Saturday morning, striker Caolan Lavery netting for the Blues. Russell Osman's youngsters conceded an early penalty after Adam Drury was fouled by Joe Whight but Conor O'Donnell saved Paul Clowes's spotkick. Despite Town being on the back foot, the teams went into half-time with the scores goalless but 10 minutes into the second period, Jordy Hiwule gave the hosts the lead. Town responded three minutes later when Caolan Lavery equalised. But the scores were only level for seven minutes as City's George King restored City's one-goal advantage, prior to Hiwule sealing all three points soon after. U18s: O'Donnell, Bennett, Whight, Jones, Maduako, Thorsteinsson, Timlin, Leddy (Scotcher 85), Lavery (Simmons 70), Lawrence (Marriott 70), Winter. Unused: Meikle, Acott.
