Stech Enjoying Time at Town
Stech Enjoying Time at Town

On-trial West Ham keeper Marek Stech says he’s enjoying his time with the Blues. The Czech U21 international has been training with Town this week with a view to a possible loan spell.

The 21-year-old was understood to have moved on a couple of days ago, however, the former Slavia Prague youth player still appears to be at the club and enjoying his spell at Playford Road, tweeting: “Having [a] good time at Ipswich.”

Stech is currently fourth choice at Upton Park and is unlikely to play too many games this season, even for the reserves, while the Blues are on the lookout for cover for David Stockdale, whose loan from Fulham includes a 24-hour recall clause, and Arran Lee-Barrett.

Elsewhere, former loan striker Rory Fallon has signed a two-year deal at Aberdeen having left Yeovil after a brief spell at Huish Park at the beginning of the season.

A loan to cover a loan, and a young keeper coming to be backup goalkeeper are both pretty strange! If he's willing to come here though, great.

in my opinion cant really see the point in signing an inexperienced goalkeeper on loan. might aswell just throw alb in or even wrighty until we get to january.

Great to hear he's enjoying it here, as a fourth choice at west ham a permanent deal seems a definite possibility

We'll need to replace Stockdale at the end of the season (if not sooner) so a loan arrangement with potential to eventually purcahse would give us a good opportunity to develop and assess him. Can't see him getting much playing time though if Stockwel is here all season.

Marek Sstech is actually number 2 at West Ham, he was expected to be number 1 if Green moved on, but no club made offers for Green.

If Stech was to play 2 more games for West Ham then they would have to play 700,000 to his previous club, thats why West Ham are looking to offload him.

I wonder if he's about to join the "He's left to go to another club" could have been a smokescreen and he signs this week wich is also why the powers released the Assumi story.I smell a plot at castle portman.

Agree with Mark, can't really see the point of this loan. A loan to cover Stockdale by West Ham 4th choice keeper. We have ALB or R Wright (who I am sure would consider signing a short term contract) and we bring on our own young 3rd choice keeper.
Hurry up finding a decent RB PJ as Edwards certainly appears as the weakest link at the back. His cover in that area is poor as he seems to concentrate more on pushing forward then covering RB.

If it's a loan with an option to buy and no recall clause then it makes sense. Otherwise it seems a bit pointless and leaves us a bit vulnerable with ALB known for having 'flappy moments' in big games.
