Blues boss Paul Jewell says Manchester City see prospective Town loan signing Reece Wabara as someone who will play in their first team in the years to come. Wabara is expected to join the Blues on a 93-day loan today.

Jewell said: “I spoke with [City coach] David Platt at length and they think he’ll be good enough for their team eventually.

“They want him to play at right-back and the lad wants to play at right-back - he’s happy to play anywhere.”

England U20 international Wabara has played much of his football at the centre of the defence but increasingly he is being viewed as a full-back: “I don’t think he’s quite big enough to play at centre-half.

“I’ve seen him play centre-half and I’ve seen him play at right-back and I think right-back is his position.”

Wabara spent yesterday travelling south and last night tweeted that he had completed his journey, although without specifically mentioning Ipswich: "Arrived at my destination, early start tomorrow. Goodnight all!"

Meanwhile, Jewell says there have been no new developments on the contract talks with the likes of skipper Grant Leadbitter and Josh Carson: “We’d like to sort them out but at the moment they haven’t been mentioned.”

Good luck mate you might get in the line up if Edwards does time like the real world would but hopefully he don't as we need him

Another good addition..can't help thinking about a previous manager who said "No one wants to come here because of the geography of the club" !!!

Hope Recce has the same impact at RB, and CB cover, as Aaron Creswell has on the left. I believe Recce is more defensive minded than Aaron and will add more 'iron' at the back. Fingers crossed.

I'm guessing he will play the RB role in a similar way to Chris Smalling..

Whats he like going forward? we dont want to go back to the Roy Keane style, we need to keep the diamond formation

I prefer loans with a view to buy for both parties unless we are short in a postion. so this is good cover untill we can find out own right footed version of creswell

Everyone goes on about the attacking threat Cresswell offers but I don't think people credit him enough for his defensive qualities.
