No New Injuries Ahead of Portsmouth Clash Monday, 17th Oct 2011 10:24
Blues boss Paul Jewell has no new injuries ahead of Tuesday’s game against Portsmouth at Portman Road. The Town manager will be looking for his side to extend their unbeaten run to six matches and win their fourth home game in a row.
Jewell said: “We’ve got one or two bumps and bruises from Saturday, as you always do, and with three games in a week we’ve got to make sure we temper our training.”
The Blues manager says his side might have lost Saturday’s draw at Cardiff a few months ago with the Bluebirds' second goal having come from a controversial penalty: “I think the way the goal came about knocked the stuffing out of us a little bit.
“Even though we should have won the game, when it went to 2-2 with 20 minutes to go we probably would have lost that not so long ago.
“At least we showed a lot more character and determination than maybe we were earlier in the season.”
Jewell says he hopes former skipper David Norris will be given a warm reception on his return to Portman Road: "I think Chuck is well thought of here, certainly by the staff and the players. He's a terrific professional and there were no hard feelings when he left.
"They made him a great offer and it was too good an opportunity for him and his family to turn down, which we couldn't match.
"We all wish him well and hopefully, after tomorrow's game, he can have a good season with Portsmouth.
"They had a good result in their last game against Barnsley and Chuck scored a great goal. They're big, they're strong and they are going to be a threat from set plays.
"We know it is going to be a tough game and quite often when a team changes their manager, they seem to have an upturn in results and changing their manager might just do the trick for them."
Meanwhile, Blues midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is set to launch his musical career, London-based rapper Chipmunk has revealed: "We've known each other since we were kids at Arsenal.
"Jay is singing on a track for me. And he's gonna play five-a-side with me so I can get my first touch back."

We should have kept Norris. I find it hard to believe Portsmouth, who nearly went out of business last season, can pay Chuck more than us

Needless to say, as an Ipswich fan living in Southampton, I'd really love to see Pompey get thrashed. COYB.

Good news - am expecting a win tomorrow.

Why are we suddenly bashing JET? He has done absolutely nothing wrong. He is a young player and plays as such.

I hope Norris doesn't get booed, because that could just inspire him to put as good a performance against us as he did against Barnsley. He has the attacking flair and goal scoring ability to hurt us tomorrow. I think that we let the wrong one go. he would be excellent in our current diamond formation instead of Leadbitter.

Wolfowitz - we are expressing our opinions about JET because that is what this particular webpage is designed to allow us to do. So far, as you will see, many of us are impressed with neither attitude nor performance. We wait to be proved wrong.

Too many harsh comments against JET. Hasn't played much since being taken out by dirty leeds. He'll come good.

I think some of the people who have commented on this are quite clearly not Town Fans, criticising a new town signing who has hardly played, and cant get in the team because we are playing well, it makes no sense. Give the lad a chance. He is un-playable on his day and will come good.

@Warwickblue oki, I get it. Jet did not play, and while he did not play, he did not play well. Thanks for the answer.

Well greetings from the UK. If you're ever over to watch Town there's a spare bedroom here in central Ipswich and the first beers are on me.
