![]() Tuesday, 1st Nov 2011 09:30 Town have announced the timetable of events for the Family Football Festival which is being held prior to Saturday’s home game against Doncaster Rovers. The event is being staged on Alderman Park starting at 1pm. The Family Football Festival campaign was launched by the Football League at the start of the season to attract new families to matches and is touring grounds until December. David Malkinson, head of marketing at the Football League, is keen to see more families at games: "Football is a sport that appeals to the whole family and League clubs have experienced bumper family attendances in recent seasons. “League football is extremely accessible, offers good value for money and provides a place where families can enjoy each other's company as well as the action on the pitch. I encourage families to go along to their local game and enjoy some football together-time." Siobhan Freeguard, who founded Netmums and who is a Family Football Festival ambassador, added: "Netmums are delighted to be involved with The Family Football Festival - it's an exciting opportunity for families across the country to enjoy a fun day out together at their local League club. “It's a great chance for mums to get the family together and enjoy the atmosphere of a League match first hand this autumn."
