Jewell: Give Andy Time Saturday, 4th Feb 2012 08:20 Town boss Paul Jewell says he hopes his Coventry counterpart Andy Thorn will be given time to turn things around at the Ricoh Arena despite the Sky Blues currently sitting at the bottom of the Championship. Jewell says he has a lot of time for the former Wimbledon, Crystal Palace and Newcastle defender, who took over as caretaker-boss after Aidy Boothroyd’s departure in March, before being handed the job permanently on the final day of last season: “He’s a great lad. He’s been around the block scouting for various clubs and was a good player when he played. “I spoke to him when we beat them and he’s really enjoying it, he’s not going to be enjoying losing, nobody does, but it’s a great opportunity for him and hopefully he’ll get a fair crack of the whip, that’s all any of us can ask. “Sometimes you’re in a job for two minutes and then you’re out and you’re forgotten about. As I keep saying, things do take time.” Despite his backing for Thorn, Jewell will be looking to inflict a 17th defeat of the season on the former England U21 international’s side at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon.
