Smith Back and Feeling Good
Smith Back and Feeling Good
Friday, 2nd Mar 2012 09:13

Centre-half Tommy Smith is back in Suffolk and on his way to Town training after his gruelling round trip to New Zealand for their friendly against Jamaica on Wednesday, which the All Whites lost 3-2. The 21-year-old says he’s feeling fine despite his three-leg flight arriving in the UK early this morning.

Smith tweeted: “On route to training after a long trip! Body is feeling good though. Looking forward to getting back to the day job!”

Blues boss Paul Jewell says he will assess whether Smith is OK to play against Bristol City tomorrow with the decision possibly being left as late as Saturday morning.

Ibrahima Sonko will deputise if Smith isn't considered fit enough to face the Robins.

Will Tommy still be playing on his head?

Oh, to be young!
Able to play football after a three leg flight half way round the world... I can't walk to the bottom of my garden these days without it being broken into three stages and a nervous hand hovering over the medicall button.

Sonko is a liabilty unless he sticks to The basics, AKA hoofs The ball into row Z and uses his physical abillities. Why didn't Mogga offer us Mc(M)Anus? Still unfairly treathet after Royle was handed The vacancy after Burley's sacking?

Smith had to say that, as wanting to keep his place in the ITFC team he could hardly say he is feeling tired out and needs a few days in bed. :-)

Nice one Tommy - many players would have been all too keen to roll over with tiredness. Great attitude to both Country and Club.
