Ill Miliband Watches Town
Ill Miliband Watches Town
Monday, 12th Mar 2012 14:35

Labour Party leader Ed Miliband was a guest of Hull City owner Assem Allam at Town’s 2-2 draw at the KC Stadium on Saturday. Miliband’s presence at the match has led to a fair amount of media comment after he missed a protest against NHS reforms in Hull earlier in the day.

Miliband, a Leeds fan, had been expected to speak to health professionals and union activists at a rally in Hull’s Queen Victoria Square at midday but he cancelled the evening before due to illness.

A spokesman for Labour said: “Ed was ill on Friday and Saturday morning. He travelled to Yorkshire as soon as he was able but it was, unfortunately, too late to make the NHS rally. He was disappointed it couldn’t happen.”

Meanwhile, Blues midfielder Jimmy Bullard is reported to have received a “very minimal” sum from the recent settlement of his compensation claim against former employers Hull. Both parties are understood to have signed confidentiality clauses relating to the agreement.

The 33-year-old, whose suspension by Town is up on Friday, had his contract terminated by the Tigers after an alleged incident on the club’s pre-season trip to Slovenia.

This story is as confusing as his leadership. Too "ill" to catch the NHS rally in Hull, but goes to watch the Hull game anyway even though he's a Leeds supporter?

So basically he's pulled a sicky and got caught out at a footee match for a team he doesnt support.

He's got my vote - not.

But he did get in for free and will no doubt get more freebies if he behaves himself.

Just about sums up why he is not that well thought of and why the Labour party is going absolutely nowhere

The problem with democracy is that people give a **** about this sort of thing.

If this seriously changes your vote (i'm sure it won't), please don't vote in the future.

Heil Ed the future leader of the world!

Lol. He could miss a whole lot more NHS rallies and it doesn't change the fact that Cameron is trying to destroy the NHS, and Labour are the only party of the three that can be trusted with it.

It must be the adenoids.

When I was a kid my mum wouldn't let me go to youth club if I had been off school sick - clearly the same principle doesn't apply to politicians.

Anyway I was never a fan of either Milliband, Ed or David. My favourite was the lesser-known brother Steve who had a hit in the 1970s with The Joker.

When's not a good time to give "Red Ed" a kicking??? I've heard he has to eat all of his meal with just a fork - that'll happen if your knife is still sat in between your brothers shoulder-blades.

Not interested in Ed Miliband, however, I'm intrigued by Bluehook's use of the term working class Tory...?

Is that the equivalent of a lazy work shy socialist or a left wing intellectual 'do as I say, not as I do' champagne socialist?

answers on a postcard!

Hello - is it too late to say that Strike's joke is A) Funny and B) responsible for an unexpected wave of nostalgia which caused me to spend several hours listening to classic LPs rather than working. Many thanks.
