Pompey's Pearce Unsure About Future
Pompey's Pearce Unsure About Future
Monday, 19th Mar 2012 13:02

Portsmouth central defender Jason Pearce admits that he doesn’t know whether he’ll be the next player to the leave the crisis club. Town, Southampton and West Ham are amongst the sides understood to be interested in the 24-year-old, who was the subject of unsuccessful bids from the Blues and others prior to the closure of the January transfer window.

Since then, a number of Pompey players - including another of Town's January targets Stephen Henderson - have left on loan with a view to summer permanent deals in order to raise cash for the administration-hit club.

Pearce, along with the Blues’ third transfer window target Joel Ward, is amongst those who could join the exodus before the loan deadline on Thursday with Town manager Paul Jewell confirming that Portsmouth have been in contact regarding which players are available.

The former Bournemouth skipper admits that he is in the dark about his future: “I don’t know what’s going to happen and I don’t know if they have to sell me or what.

“I’m a Portsmouth player, I’ve got a contract here and I’m going to give my all to this club until I’m told differently.

“I haven’t been told any differently at the moment, so I would think I will be here but it could be out of my hands.

“I’ve come through the ranks here and I hold this club really close to me. It would be really sad to go.

“All I know is that every day in training and every game I am lucky enough to play, I will give my all as I always do.”

Meanwhile, Norwich City fans are reported to have been behind vandalism to the Sir Bobby Robson memorial garden near to St James' Park after the Canaries' 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Sunday. The graffiti was removed by Newcastle City Council workers this morning.

umros

i think you'll find Bobble's comment is called satirical humour - look it up in the big book full of words

don't worry if you're offended by it - give it 5 minutes and doubtless Jas will be on blaming it all on PJ

I dont know why we are bothering to try and sign these Pompey players. They clearly dont want to join Town.

Their addition to the squad may undermine the ever strengthening team spirit!

"and I don't know if they have to sell me or what." = " West Ham, please put in a substantial bid for me"

Good business move.

Shows the direction football is going when memorial to a decent man of the game is defaced and a redundant player is trying to create a bidding war for his services.

A single moronic act, very likely by a single individual if you actually read the story. Already being over-sensationalised by the press and far from worthy of all the hot air it has generated. When are the grief police getting here?

Just how long is it going to take to get the Pompey pair signed, do we want them if the answer is yes then for christs sake get on with it, if not then say we won't be signing them and we can then forget it, I'm completely fed up with the constant re hash of the same stories
