Jewell at Chesterfield-Huddersfield Tuesday, 20th Mar 2012 21:45
Boss Paul Jewell was at tonight’s Chesterfield-Huddersfield game at the Spireites’ B2net Stadium looking for potential new recruits. Several members of the Blues' coaching staff were on scouting missions this evening with Town in action at home to Burnley on Wednesday.
The Blues manager was more likely to be casting his eye over the Terriers’ line-up with right-back Jack Hunt understood to be a player Jewell has been interested in for a while, having been spotted watching the West Yorkshiremen in action on a couple of occasions earlier in the season.
Former Blue Jordan Rhodes — who is probably now out of his old club’s price range - was again on target for Huddersfield as they won the League One clash 2-0.
Also in the Terriers side was another ex-Town man Gary Roberts, while Alan Lee was a 70th minute sub.
Jewell was probably assessing summer targets rather than players he hopes to land before Thursday’s loan deadline.

Some great young talent on display there. I also hope there was someone at Stevenage's game with Colchester tonight, trying to work out who is the main reason for them only conceding 33 goals in 36 games this season... because whoever it is, we need him!
Paris, hopefully. This guy has been tipped to have a bright future, even being talked about as a future England keeper (but then so was Richard Wright) so would be good to have someone of his potetial here. Having said that, I'd like to see a more experienced keeper as our number one, if we could afford it the thing to do would be to sign someone like Smithies, loan them out for a couple of seasons whilst we also secure the services of an older more experienced keeper for a couple of years.
was at the peterborough reading game tonight! We should bring in the little fella they have up front, Taylor I think he's called! He's sharp hungry and can finish! him and chops wld be excellent
Huddersfield have a very promising striker, Rhodes his name is, but shhh dont tell anyone as some badly run club already sold him for a pittance and it will make them feel stupid if they find out
Does anyone know if Rhodes has a sell-on clause in his contract? It would be a small consolation if we were to get some cash if he ends up going somewhere for big money...
One player who i have seen play several times this season and been impressed with is Anthony Wordsworth at Colchester, he is a very good goalscoring midfielder is only 23 and would be a good re-placement for Leadbitter if he leaves.
Really I don't think anyone can complain about the knocking between clegg and the clown jewell we will be lucky if we have 11 to field cleggs main interest will be the olympics
Great point about Stevenage's defensive record. One of their ever presents at the back called Jon Ashton was the only defender named in FourFourTwo's top ten League 2 players last season. This guy is 6' 2 and built like an All Black. Should imagine he has alot to do with their water tight defence. Have a look PJ!!!! Him and Pearce please. No nonsense defending
