Town Launch New Kits Thursday, 5th Apr 2012 08:00
Town have launched their two new kits for next season. At home the traditional blue is augmented with more red than in previous years, while it’s a return to white and black away from home.
To promote the launch of the two kits, the club have produced a video, which you can find here, starring skipper Carlos Edwards, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Arran Lee-Barrett, Josh Carson and various co-stars filmed at Easton Farm Park.
Town’s retail manager Lee Hyde says he’s pleased with the new strips: “I am absolutely delighted with the new kits from Mitre for the 2012/13 season.
“The classic, clean, powerful look of the kits has been a real hit with the players and the manager and we're hoping that the fans love them too. The quality of the fabrics used this season is fantastic. The kits look and feel superb.
“We are the first English league club to unveil the new look for next season and that is testament to the work Mitre have put in over the last six months — and we are delighted with the end result.”
Captain Edwards is also a fan: “I really like the red stripe. I think that works well against the blue and the shirt is certainly comfortable to wear as well. Hopefully it can prove to be a winning look for us on the pitch next season.”

Northern Irish international Josh Carson was impressed with the away strip: “It’s a classic look. I think the fans will really take to both kits. Making the video was a great laugh as well. I can’t wait to see the out-takes!”
All home and away shirts will all carry three stars representing the three major trophies won by the club.
Fans can pre-order both kits from today at Planet Blue, online at www.itfcshop.co.uk or by mail order on (01473) 400501. The pre-order closing date for home shirts is June 9th to be collected on June 16th with the kit going on general sale from June 23rd.

The pre-order closing date for away shirts is June 30th, to be collected on July 21th with general sale starting from July 28th.
Those pre-ordering will receive 500 TeamCard points for each shirt ordered as well as a limited edition duffel bag, 50 per cent off shirt printing and will be entered into a prize draw, with two winners getting their entire pre-order free of charge.

Town are also offering free 12-month subscriptions to Ipswich Player to the first 50 fans who spend over £100 on pre-orders.
The shirts cost £42.99 for adults and £31.99 for children. If both home and away shirts are pre-ordered in the same size, there will be a discount of £5.98 per order, reducing the price of each shirt to £40 for adults and £29 for children.

More classic look and therefore to my eyes a bit more classy, although the white stripes on the shorts do make Carson's look like bad photoshopping !

I am not a fan of the red, but like the simplicity of the shirts and always prefer a white away shirt to anything else. Now they change both shirts every season, I expect they will sell very few away shirts compared to previous years as everyone would prefer the home one and most people can't afford to pay £85.98 a year for both.

Quality video, nice to see a bit of humour. Now save your money, don't spend it on a kit that looks pretty much the same as other past kits (ooh but there's a bit of red in it! Who cares?) In fact, instead of buying a kit, spend your money on a ticket to come and support the team, and you'll have still saved yourself 17 quid which you can spend as you wish.

Let's hope we don't draw Blackburn away in the cup eh!

Great, but the early run of form in this season is not acceptable. Jewell hasn't stopped with loanees. Also he has not addressed the cb's in the January window. Tut tut. (Jas parody)

like the new kits - may even make a purchase this time ...as the last few shirts have been kak in my opinion....I agree about the comment about the stars - 1x star for 1961/2 would be enough.

What the f*ck! Kit isn't too bad, though don't like the red myself. Photoshoot and video are risible, sub-benny hill dark ages sh*t. It actually makes me ashamed.

Well done to whoever thought up the accompanying video - some nice offensive stereotypes played up to there. A nice own goal scored for next season before this season's even finished. They should have got a clearly starving Josh Carson to crawl around the farm, frustratingly searching for potatoes that aren't blighted. Why not go the whole hog?

Not bad kits. The white away is better. I presume the black kit will be retained as a third kit should we play teams with blue and white stripes/hoops( Sheff Wed,QPR etc).

MarcusSg - do you really need the reason for the stars on the shirt to be explained! I guess you only must only be about 10 years old, if you don't know what they mean. Well I think that the new strip is an improvement on the last two, but my god don't they all look as if they have a gun pointed at them, for heavens sake who actually took these photographs. Must have been Cleggy with his box brownie trying to save a few quid.

seeing pictures of the new kits made me think..blimey we've got something right for a change..they really are pretty cool.. then i watched the video and every ounce of pleasure eroded..i actually thought it HAD to be a wind up.. whoever put that together and then allowed its distribution wants sacking..absolutely ridiculous..a laughing stock

I also think the stars are a bit naff. To put it into perspective, the stars above the crests of Juventus, Milan and Inter each represent 10 Serie A titles won. Juve have two above their club crest!

Like both kits, Glad to see the away kit is back to being White, the way it should be. Also nice to see some red back in the home shirt matching the badge. not too sure about it being a shoulder stripe though. The only shirts ive really hated lately are the two that had white swirls on them!!! they were terrible. Anyway, definately buying as usual, even though I rarely wear any sports clothing :-/ our home kit should ALWAYS be Blue and White with a small bit of red, and our away kit should ALWAYS be white!!

They look pretty cool. Only problem is both are only for a year. To buy one new shirt a year is expensive but two is OTT.

I'll grow on the home one, although I dont like it very much AT THE MOMENT.. The away kit is absolutely beautiful, love it!!! Anyone seen our third kit?

I think the home kit is simple, bold, and offers a STRONG image. Its a winner, as is the away strip! If there's one thing Evans knows about, its how to create a strong corporate / business image
