Blues boss Paul Jewell has hinted that he could recall Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Lee Martin and Andy Drury for Saturday’s game at Crystal Palace after the trio were rested for Monday's defeat to Leicester. The Town manager has also revealed that midfielder Jimmy Bullard is again out due to illness.

Jewell says he could again look to shuffle his pack against the Eagles: “We rested a few on Monday because they’d put so much effort in the games.

“This is the longest that JET has played football, and Lee Martin and Andy Drury at this level. Those three players who were rested could come back into contention for Saturday.”

There are no new injuries amongst the 16 who were in the squad on Monday but midfielder Jimmy Bullard is again sidelined: “Jimmy’s ill again. He’s seeing the doc at half-one. He’s got really bad sinuses, so he certainly won’t be involved on Saturday."

Bullard was previously out of action due to illness in early January when he was suffering with flu.

Winger or full-back Jaime Peters is the only player currently out due to injury: “Jaime Peters has got a thigh strain and that’s it.”

Duncan added 17:47 - Apr 12 Keaneish totally agree I like most people thought the signing of Bullard and bowyer would be a fantastic midfield paring. on paper it was. in reality for many reasons it never worked out. We got both on free's so at least unlike leadbeater who cost big money and big wages and will most likely walk away for nothing they wernt that bad a decisions. I think there is a lot to be optimistic about next season

TimmyH added 17:52 - Apr 12 Yeah can't complain when we got him on contract (we were all delighted), but to a degree it's always a bit of a gamble to sign a player when your in your early to mid-thirties, you either continue to play well and show energy or on the other hand your legs go as per Bowyer. I too still think he can be a bit part player next season with his passing and dead ball skills. Mustn't forget his off field antics never help a player if he's not on form.

I forgot you were the only fan who saw everything coming all along... And they were rested, not dropped, again just as people were suggesting as our season was all but over. stop acting like such an idiot it ruins the good things you have to say. Bullard needs to go. For so many reasons.

I'm well satisfied to know that I didn't, and I predicted what an asset he would be to the Club !!!!!!!!!! Another sound signing for Mr Jewell to go with several others i.e Ingarmarsson etc; Some have short memories when talking about progress - PJ's reign to date has been, and continues to be, a flat line - and that's being somewhat generous to him.

It seems the likes of yourself and that tedious individual jas0999 don't want to recognise the recent signs of improvement but just love to wallow in their hatred for pj. I think he has made many mistakes and elements of his squad selection annoy me, BUT I can also see many positives. Some people don't want to to see positives. Ps - say hello to Jas for me.
