Fulham are amongst a number of Premier League clubs to have been alerted to the talents of Blues midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, according to a tabloid report.

The 21-year-old has begun to show his potential in the second half of the season and scored his seventh goal of the campaign in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham on Tuesday.

According to the report, Town are said to be looking for a fee of double the initial £1.5 million they are said to have paid the Gunners last summer, although manager Paul Jewell recently quoted a lower figure of £600,000.

However, even if there is any truth in the report, with Emmanuel-Thomas an increasingly key player in Jewell’s team, the Blues are likely to do everything they can to hold on to the Londoner with Marcus Evans's cash ensuring that they can rebuff offers in a manner they wouldn't have been able to a few years ago.

Meanwhile, striker Michael Chopra has been banned from driving for six months after reaching 12 points on his licence having admitted driving through a red light in September last year.

Chopra, who attended court with chief executive Simon Clegg, was also £400, ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a further £15 to victims of crime. The 28-year-old was banned from driving for 56 days for speeding earlier in the season.

JET for £3m would be a snip for Fulham and a near disaster for us if we are serious about building a team for promotion next season. I hope it never happens, but nowadays you can never be sure. If JET stays, I believe he will take the Championship by storm next season. Just hope the "boy's head is not turned" as the jargon goes.

Sad fact is many, if not most, player will have a clause in their contract that states that if 'such and such' offer is made the player can leave if he wishes. So it may well not be up to us.

It's not unlikely that an agent will be constantly touting his players around trying to do deals.

The fear is if he does go we will see as much of the money as we did with Walters and Wickham .... absolutely zilch.

JET would be worth another 5 million if he targetted 6 inches INSIDE the posts

It would only take a decent offer, which would be accepted, pre-meditated excuses given to the gullible - and he would be on his way.

Dont go JET. We actually like you, you are one of our best players and we wouldnt be able to stand to watch you go. Ipswich would crumble without you.
