Tuesday, 28th Aug 2012 19:20

Blues boss Paul Jewell makes one change to his starting line-up for tonight's Capital One Cup tie at Carlisle with Josh Carson returning to the side in place of Luke Hyam, who has a hamstring injury. Youngster Byron Lawrence comes on to the bench.

Andy Drury looks likely to switch into the middle alongside Massimo Luongo with Carson in his usual wide left role. Match preview here.

Carlisle: Collin, Potts, Chantler, Edwards, Murphy, Thirlwell, Berrett, Noble, Robson, McGovern, Cadamarteri. Subs: Gillespie, Simek, Welsh, Madden, Beck, Symington, Bugno.

Town: Loach, Cresswell, Edwards, Chambers, Smith, Drury, Luongo, Carson, Emmanuel-Thomas, Martin, Chopra. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Delaney, Scotland, Stevenson, Murray, Ainsley, Lawrence.

Surely Harry is the man to steady this ship and take us forwards! He has good profile with the media, can and would attract players, play attacking football with proper wingers and if we got him in now he could work the loan market until Jan where Evans would then splash some cash for him. We need a feel good factor back at the club NOW!!!

@Bezzer - too far for him to commute although he is chummy with ME, @ipswich61 - unfortunately we are still perceived as that (nothing wrong with family). Give Me Alan Curbishley which I wanted over 3 years ago, Harry (which won't happen) or George back to some degree - futile anyway as PJ isn't going to be sacked in the near future or on the basis of losing 2 games running.

Evans could afford him if he wanted. Hard to believe at the mo but Evans is a seriously rich man. If he showed Harry the ambition he would come. Let's be fair, we are a bigger club than all but one of Harry's former clubs.

timmyh burley was a good manager for us,i remember when he got sacked(which i dont think he should have)as we were about 6th from bottom with 3 games in hand because of us being in europe again

I don't go along with the commute argument. If Liverpool had offered him their job he wouldn't use the commute excuse. I know we are not Liverpool, however I think he would be keen to get back into work with a decent club i.e Ipswich.

Although only the micky mouse cup not overally gutted as the local team to myself Stoke City were beaten at home by Swindon Town. At least the stokies at work can't say too much. After Saturday's joke defeat which hurt, I did expect a positive reaction tonight, how wrong can you be. Where then do we go from here.....more signings, more rumours of signings??? Only one clean sheet again in three leauge games and two cup cups (against lower leauge teams) defenders s...., Chopra has a reabilitation in the States, has this worked? Hardly....It's one disaster after another, didnt want to say it but Im now not convinced by PJ either. The writings on the wall for Saturday 2-1 defeat, Rhodes to get at least one of their two.

@ipswich61 - he was sacked when we lost away to Grimsby 3-0 and couldn't make the play-offs, sacked too early as you said but still had a lot better team then than the mess we have now, George believed in 'carpet' football, many a good season watching the Town then.

ipswich61..no he hasn't..that says a lot of how ME feels about the current management regime to me..I think he knows he made a mistake 20 months ago..fairplay,jewell did keep us up but he's not taken us forward..we can't get out of 2nd gear..and that's being kind.

Agree..look,I don't want us to become a sacking club But when something's so blatantly wrong then decisions need to be made sooner rather than later..the next managerial appointment needs to be an inspired one...and I do not want Simon Clegg having anything to do with it.
