Trialist at Town
Trialist at Town
Tuesday, 11th Sep 2012 09:04

A mystery trialist is reported to have joined the Blues for the week as Paul Jewell continues his attempts to strengthen his central defensive options.

Southend’s Bilel Mohsni spent last week training at Playford Road, impressing and scoring in the 6-0 U21s thrashing of Cardiff City.

Weekend reports in Essex that Mohsni was due to talk to the Blues on Sunday were wide of the mark and Town look likely to wait to see how the situation develops with their preferred targets — Stoke’s Matthew Upson being high up on the list and QPR's Clint Hill is understood to have been the subject of a recent enquiry — before taking the matter further.

Mohsni was subsequently quoted as saying he was waiting to talk to the Blues regarding the outcome of his trial.

Trialists tend to come and go regularly - prior to Mohsni, Cameroonian Yann Songo’o spent time at Playford Road and Spanish keeper Aleix Manzano was at the club last week — often sent over on spec by agents with the club knowing little about them.

Algarvefan (and anyone else it may concern). Please don't think i am claiming non-season ticket holders as not having valid opinions. Honestly that was never meant to be my suggestion. Apologies if misinterupted.

What i was trying to get across is i find it hard to accept the pointless rants that come from certain members here who don't, for whatever reason, go to games. It is those unfounded and unhelpful posts i am criticising.

Just because i may not agree with some of the well worded and supported posts from others, doesn't mean i don't value them. I hope that makes sense?

Be a boring place if we all agreed all the time...

Did someone say you must have a season ticket to have a valid opinion? but it helps if you watch a Town game once in a while! Many times on Radio Suffolk after match phone in punters start with " i wasn't at the game but"

I have been a season ticket holder on and off for many years.
Clearly fans that go to every home match and some of our great fans who do both home and away matches will ALWAYS have a better and probably more informed view of players performances and management tactics rather than those of us who either listened on the radio or just watched highlights.
However when it comes to cold hard facts like results, transfer policies and general management decisions then every fan up and down the country and our great fans abroad whether they have been to the last game or not have the right to voice their opinion without being asked 'are you a season ticket holder' !
Every town fans comment is as valid as the next whether you agree with it or not.
At least we now have a like/unlike comment scroll.
