First, Clegg has to go or at the least he should not be involved in the appointment process or decision.

Solskjaer would be a very interesting appointment, IF they could get him.

Avoid Megson and Kean at all costs.

Whoever it is some on this site will be moaning about the appointment, if it is not their choice they will start as soon as the results go wrong, or even before the first game. I did not like Jewell but did not moan about him until recently

Not sure why people want Di Canio. Surely, he's just Keane in another form isn't he?

Coyle might not be a bad choice, though he has no history of fixing broken teams. Robinson not a bad shout. I'd rather those than another 'experienced' manager who will just fill the team with old cloggers.

We need to go back to youth. Problem is, can we afford to do that in our current situation? Jewell did have a point on that one to some extent.

Either

Curbishley
Burley with an assistant Taricco/Holland
Butcher
Redknapp (not going to happen)
Davies (good bet to get us to the play-offs)

As a betting man I think Curbishley will get the job.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Harry Redknapp or Matt Holland.

Joe Royle to turn things around, and then move to an overseeing role with a young manager coming in.

It has to be Holloway. Stanley Holloway - with a little bit of luck :-).

Gary Smith at Stevenage has been successful in both his Managerial jobs so far and is described as a good coach on the training ground. I'm sure he could develop the talented youngsters we currently have. If money is tight then his knowledge of the lower leagues could prove valuable also.

I'd like to see Helena Christensen given a try. She's got experience, knows the scouting set-up very well and has great contacts. Also, she plays two up front, and bases her tactics on Mário Zagallo's wonderful Brazilian side of the 70s.

I'd love to have Tony Mowbray back at the club, but that's not going to happen.

as long as it isnt Curbishley!!

Redknapp would be great but cant see that happening at all..... would be happy to see Burley back, but I cant help thinking it never happens second time round, or am I wrong?

Michael Appleton would be a tilt at a young manager, what he has had to put up with at Pompey and still come out with some credit takes special qualities. But I fear that Mr Evans will want a name to continue the theme of using the managers status to promote the ME brand.

Do we really want someone like Mick McCarthy and his brand of football?

Whichever way, lets take our time and see who applies, we might be pleasantly surprised.

Mick Mills put it so well last night let the job vacancy be known and plenty of people will apply and they will be the ones who want to come here and select from them. No point in sounding people out because we want someone who wants to manage here not someone who is just after the money.
We need someone who understands ITFC not someone like Keane who did all he can to break it!

Nobody will apply - the new manager will be approached.

Rednapp, Coyle or Curbs with Thyssen as Manager-In-Waiting. Frans has declared that he'd love to return to Town, but doesn't have enough experience to manage yet.
