Martin Misses Burnley Clash
Friday, 9th Nov 2012 09:29

Midfielder Lee Martin is out of Saturday's home game with Burnley having picked up his fifth booking of the season against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old was yellow-carded for dissent late in the second half at Selhurst Park and as a result serves a one-match ban.

He had previously picked up cautions in the games against Charlton, Barnsley, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday.

I don't no about anybody else on here but would like a longer look at mohsni, perhaps a start then subbed if hasn't got 90 in him. Give him a chance to earn his wages at least.

Mick Mills hit the nail on the head as usual after the Palace game - if we have no decent wide players, don't play any. Play a narrow midfield 4 and use the full backs to do the attacking and have two strikers.

Lee Martin's first appearence on a televised game, Newcastle 2years ago. Runs to take corner, lines up in a fluster, kicks corner flag pole and ball, ball rolls out for goal kick. Fans look on in amazement at previous Manchester United winger. Will he be missed?

Agree with people above - Edwards to move up to wide right with Ainsley at right back. Must play 4-4-2 with Murphy and DJ up front. I just hope MM has realised just how many goals we concede with Edwards playing at right back - he is a right midfielder NOT a right back!

Have to agree with some comments on here about Martin, yes under RK he wasn't particularly great but for a while under PJ he played better and looked a valuable asset but like a few other players has drifted into inconsistency and so far this season has looked pretty ordinary, effort put in on the pitch to little effect and no goals - say no more.

warbeat78 - Luongo has gone back to Tottenham.
As for Martin, has dissapointed on many occassions, but if MM has said he is going nowhere, then he must think he can turn him around. or is that the impression that Martin has made on him!

It seems martin is not a favourite with the fans.
One of those players who gets him self in trouble a lot and gets him self booked to much and then we sit waiting for him to be sent off.
Maybe we wont miss him bebause we need eleven players on the pitch at the moment not ten
