Barnett, Chambers and Hyam In For Forest Clash
Tuesday, 27th Nov 2012 18:57

Town boss Mick McCarthy has handed Tyrone Barnett his Blues debut and has recalled Luke Chambers and Luke Hyam to the side taking on Nottingham Forest at Portman Road this evening. Michael Chopra, Danny Higginbotham and the injured Nigel Reo-Coker drop out.

Chambers returns against his old club, having missed the 1-1 draw with Peterborough on Saturday, in place of Higginbotham, another ex-Tricky Tree, alongside Tommy Smith.

Hyam will be alongside Guirane N'Daw in the centre of midfield with Barnett up front with DJ Campbell.

The Forest starting line-up includes ex-Blues Danny Collins, who is wearing the armband, and Dan Harding, as well as one-time Town target Billy Sharp. Full preview here.

Town: Henderson, Orr, Chambers, Smith, Cresswell, Edwards (c), Hyam, N'Daw, Martin, Campbell, Barnett. Subs: Loach, Hewitt, Higginbotham, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Murphy, Chopra.

Nottingham Forest: Camp, Hutton, Ward, Collins (c), Harding, Gillett, Cohen, Guedioura, Lansbury, Blackstock, Sharp. Subs: Darlow, Moussi, McGugan, Reid, Moloney, Coppinger, Ayala.

Phil - does anyone, apart from journalists, actually refer to Forest as the Tricky Trees?

That looks like a very strong forest side. Any team that can afford to have players like McGugan, Reid and Coppinger on the bench have to be a good side. If we do not concede early we might sneak a point but if we do then I do fear......really fear!!

Jubilation at last ! So pleased for Luke Hyam who hopefully will now command a place in the team.
This could just be the spring board that we need to kick start our season. Can we replicate this on Saturday at the Reebok? Can only dream.

What a night to be an Ipswich fan, thought the line up was really well balanced tonight, particularly across midfield, not only did we win well but we had 17 attempts on goal and 10 on target and a decent amount of possession which shows that we can be entertaining under McCarthy, well done Luke Hyam, big chance for him and he took it with both hands, hopefully he will be consistently in the first team now.
